Wellness Care

We want to be your partner in the care of your pet. Communication is essential in any relationship, and we hope you find value in your pet’s comprehensive exams and check-ups. It is critical to bring your pet to The Integrative Veterinary Center of Richmond for physical examinations. We provide thorough physical examinations to detect potential problems before they become significant issues.

Many pet health problems can be avoided with regular physical exams, so we recommend that our staff examine your pet at least twice a year. While physical exams are important for animal health, you can help by being a responsible pet owner. Take detailed notes and bring your pet to The Integrative Veterinary Center of Richmond for an examination if you notice any irregularities with them.

What exactly is a physical examination? Some things require special tests and equipment to see, feel, touch, or hear, but you can often learn a lot about your pet through simple observation.

At IVC, we will discuss the risks and benefits of disease and vaccinations for you to decide how to protect your pet against preventable diseases. Delayed vaccine schedules can also be discussed, and recommendations can be made to help keep your pet safe and healthy during any period of increased risk.

After receiving the initial vaccines, your pet may require boosters to achieve complete protection. Puppies and kittens are often seen frequently until absolute immunity is achieved. We at IVC prefer to separate vaccinations from one another whenever possible to minimize reaction risk for our patients.
